Service Changes in High Wycombe & Marlow from 31st August 2025

We will be making changes to our bus network from 31st August 2025 in the High Wycombe and Marlow areas.

From Sunday 31st August, several of our services will see timetable alterations to improve reliability.

Services along the London Road to Beaconsfield will be increased to run up to every 10 minutes - more information is available here.

Buses will now run every 30 minutes Monday to Saturday daytime between High Wycombe, Amersham, Chesham and Hemel Hempstead, with support from Hertfordshire County Council. On Saturdays, the frequency between High Wycombe and Chesham will be enhanced to operate up to every 15 minutes, in partnership with Buckinghamshire Council. We will also be operating later evening journeys to Pond Park and Hemel Hempstead.

The pattern of services on the one will now be as follows:

  • 1 - High Wycombe to Hemel Hempstead via Stanley Hill and Ley Hill. Buses will now run along Eskdale Avenue and Leyhill Road instead of Jasons Hill between Ley Hill and Bovingdon.
  • 1A – High Wycombe to Pond Park via Amersham Station Road.
  • 1B – High Wycombe to Pond Park or Hemel Hempstead via Penn Street, Winchmore Hill and Amersham Station Road (school time journeys serve Stanley Hill). Most journeys operate to Hemel via Nashleigh Hill, Lye Green and Whelpley Hill.
  • 1S – High Wycombe to Pond Park via Stanley Hill Schools.

As part of these changes, there are minor changes to the pattern of early morning and evening journeys to reflect the demand that we are seeing at these times. On Saturdays, buses will now run every 20 minutes to better reflect usage.

Timetable revised to improve punctuality. As part of these changes, there are major changes to the timetable, including a reduction in early morning journeys, better reflect the demand that we are seeing across the day.

There will be a revised route in Amersham, with buses now operating direct between Copperkins Lane and Amersham Hill Avenue. New service 105 will provide regular connections along Grimsdells Lane, New Road and Chestnut Lane (see below).

Due to low usage, school variants 41H and 41S, as well as the extension to and from Marlow Hill Schools will be replaced by trips on service 41 trips. For scholars travelling to Marlow Hill Schools, frequent connections are available in High Wycombe Bus Station.

We’re doubling the frequency, with buses operating up to every 30 minutes, 7 days a week, between High Wycombe, Beaconsfield, Farnham Common and Slough, with buses extending to Windsor up to every 30 minutes Monday to Saturday daytime, and hourly on Sundays.

On Sundays, service X103 will no longer operate, and all journeys will now be numbered 103 and operate via Beaconsfield New Town.

There will be minor changes to the timetable as part of the London Road frequency improvements, and to enable our buses to improve timekeeping, but general level of service remains the same on Mondays to Saturdays.

Buses combine with service 101 to offer a joint frequency of up to every 30 minutes between The Chalfonts, Gerrards Cross and Uxbridge.

We’ve worked with Buckinghamshire Council to enhanced the Sunday timetable, with buses now operating hourly between Beaconsfield, The Chalfonts, Gerrards Cross and Uxbridge.

At school times, buses run via Stanley Hill for Amersham School.

Following a retendering exercise by Buckinghamshire Council, we will commence operation of Marlow Town Services 156, 156A, 158 and 160 from 31st August 2025.

These services will operate to a slightly different timetable to now.

850There will be some minor changes to the timetable to reflect the low demand that we are seeing on some early morning trips. Buses will continue to run up to every 15 minutes between High Wycombe, Marlow and Henley on weekdays, however buses will start to operate every 30 minutes slightly earlier in the evening on these days.Timetable
