Boulters Lock
Watch boats navigate the historic Boulters Lock and enjoy riverside walks in either direction, from Maidenhead Bridge toward Cookham. The Boathouse restaurant overlooks the river and is ideal for a coffee, light bite, or a full meal, while the riverside provides plenty of space for family picnics.
Ray Mill Island
Ray Mill Island is a hidden gem just behind Boulters Lock, accessible via the bridge by The Boathouse or across Taplow Bridge. The island features picnic areas, winding paths, ponds, and aviaries, along with guinea pigs and wildlife to spot. The Island Piazza Café offers ice cream, drinks, and snack. In summer, you can hire self-drive boats or rowing boats, or try paddleboarding along the river.
Riverside Gardens
Riverside Gardens on Raymead Road is perfect for children and families, featuring a play park with swings, slides, a sandpit, and picnic benches. There's also an 18-hole crazy golf course. Nearby, Jenner’s Café serves hot food, ice cream, and drinks all year round.

The Maidenhead Bridge, built between 1772–1777, and Brunel’s Sounding Arch (Maidenhead Railway Bridge) are iconic structures along the riverside. Bridge Gardens offers riverside benches, views of the bridges, and the historic Ada Lewis Memorial fountain.
