VIP Bus Driver Academy launched to train new recruits

Carousel Buses has launched a VIP Bus Driver Academy to support its continued growth.

The full-time bus driving school at Carousel’s depot in High Wycombe allows the bus operator to provide professional bus driver training on-site for the first time.

Training previously took place at sister organisation Oxford Bus Company, whose depot is based in East Oxford. The academy is being led by Mark Bumann, and the first tranche of new starters have commenced their training. 

Carousel Buses has launched the VIP Bus Driver Academy alongside a renewed recruitment campaign. Full-time and part-time bus driver roles are available, and candidates must have held a valid manual driving licence for more than 12 months, as well as demonstrating customer service skills and strong communication abilities. 

Existing PCV licence holders are entitled to a £4,000 joining bonus, while those with just a standard car driving licence will receive a competitive wage throughout the full, professional training programme.

Immediate start dates are being offered, along with industry-leading rates of pay. Successful applicants can earn up to £44,000 per year after overtime opportunities.
