Founded by William the Conqueror in the 11th century, the Castle has been home to 40 monarchs over nearly a thousand years. Today, The King continues this royal tradition, often spending his private weekends at Windsor.

Explore the magnificent State Apartments, richly decorated and filled with masterpieces from the Royal Collection, including works by Rembrandt, Rubens, and Canaletto. Wander through the Grand Reception Room, glittering with chandeliers and gilded furnishings, and imagine the grand occasions that have taken place within its walls.

Be sure to visit St George’s Chapel, a stunning example of Gothic architecture and the spiritual heart of the Castle. It is the burial place of ten monarchs, among them Queen Elizabeth II and Henry VIII, and continues to be a site of royal weddings and ceremonies today.
